Week 4 Litter Update
4 Week Puppy update!
Hello friends,
With only 4 weeks left until puppies are ready to go home, we’ve been kicking training and exposures into high gear. These puppies have an excellent genetic foundation, and we’re focused on nurturing their incredible temperaments with consistent training and exposures.
Training
We have moved from ENS and ESI training exposures to puppy massage (exposure to different kinds of touch and handling), Puppy, Puppy, Puppy protocol, early potty training and we are about to introduce them to crates.
We’ve added a new exposure area for puppies each week.
Week 2 we added a potty area along with a grass turf pad. By week 3 puppies were consistently using the potty area and primarily the turf pad for pooping and peeing.
Week 3 we added an outdoor exposure pen for puppies to play outside and get used to all new sights and sounds.
Week 4 we added an indoor play area in a different end of the house.
Week 5 we will add one crate for puppies to explore with the door open and start developing positive associations with their crates.
Puppies are also weaning little by little from nursing, and are doing great eating puppy mush and lapping puppy formula and water.

Week one Litter Update

Hello friends,
Winnie’s puppies have been here for one week now! After starting labor around 7:45pm on June 9th, she surprised us with 9 puppies all delivered around 9:45am on June 10th.
The puppies have been nursing so well and Winnie is a rockstar Mama.
Training
We’ve begun ENS training (Starting on Day 3) as part of the Badass Breeder and Puppy Culture protocols to make sure we send well-adjusted puppies to each of their homes.
This includes: Weeks 1-2
Tactile stimulation
Thermal stimulation
Positioning
We incorporate a series of 5 exercises that cover the above, in addition to the regular handling, weighing, and ribbon changing of the puppies.

Winnie’s X-ray results
Winnie is expecting 8 puppies any day now!
We’re thrilled to share that Winnie is expecting eight puppies! There’s a small chance it could be seven, but our vet is fairly confident she spotted an eighth little one tucked away.
Winnie is doing great and getting lots of love. Her whelping box and puppy playpen are all set up, and for the past week, the kids and I have been camping out in the guest room—right next to her whelping area—to help her feel relaxed and at home in her space.
She’s been especially attached lately, so we’re making sure she’s never left alone. My sister—aka our doggie doula—arrives in a few days and we’re so grateful for everything she’s taught us so far. We’re excited to put our badass breeder and puppy culture training to good use!
We’ll post an update as soon as puppies arrive!
Important Dates
X-Ray: Winnie will have an x-ray on June 3rd to determine exactly how many puppies she’s carrying.
Due Date: Winnies due date is around June 11th, which means we’re just a few short weeks away from meeting her sweet litter of puppies.
Early August: At 8 weeks of age, puppies will be ready to go to their forever homes.
Mama Update: Winnie has been doing so well—calm, healthy, and showing all the signs of being the gentle and attentive mama we knew she would be. This will be her first and only litter, and we’re committed to giving her and her puppies the absolute best care from start to finish.
To ensure everything goes as safely and smoothly as possible, we’re flying in someone very special—my sister, a professional breeder and puppy trainer based in Utah. She has years of experience with newborn litters and early puppy development, and she’ll be here to support the delivery, monitor the puppies in their early days, and help lay a strong foundation for training and socialization using proven techniques from Badass Breeder and Puppy Culture programs. Her expertise is a huge gift, and we feel lucky to have her involved.
As we get closer to the big day, we’ll continue to share updates with you through email, our private litter page, and social media—so you can follow along as Winnie’s journey unfolds. Thank you for being part of this special chapter with us. We can’t wait to introduce you to these puppies!
